One of the most incredible aspects of Kevin’s work is the sheer number of young students on which he left a mark. Much of the Foundation’s work in the initial years will be to account for and engage with these graduates in a systematic way. To that end, the Foundation offers a number of ways to get involved depending on your availability and schedule:
Board Member: Part of the process of becoming a recognized charitable organization is the formation of a board of the directors. The Board helps plan our outreach strategy, serves as fiduciary oversight, selects our scholarship recipients, and assists in steering organizational priorities.
As with any 501(c)(3) organization, board members hold certain legal and fiduciary responsibilities which will require the member to be regularly engaged with the organization through regular conference calls and quarterly board meetings. Board members are our most dedicated and engaged members, and are often our lead donors.
Class President: The heads of state, our class presidents are our primary means of outreach. They work closely with Matt, Brendan, and the Board to increase and engage our membership. A class president does not have to represent their class year; in fact the relationships built between the decades are often the deepest bonds we have. Class presidents can also reach beyond graduation years and into their areas of experience: techies, actors, A/V, and band members are all welcome to join! Class presidents have year-round obligations, but require a time investment only a few hours a month.
Stage Manager: Stage managers take point on some of our major events and outreach activities. These commitments tend to be seasonal rather than year-round, but they have a huge impact on advancing Kevin Kynock’s legacy. Want to host a house party for the Foundation? Round up folks for a Shakespeare on the Common event? Then the stage manager position may be for you.
Ensemble: Kevin knew that it took a community of people to make a production happen. If you cannot give of your time but want to contribute to his memory, we will be grateful to have you as a one of the Foundation’s ensemble members. Our ensemble members are what make our yearly initiatives such as the Kevin C. Kynock scholarship and Shakespeare on the Common event happen, and as such play a huge role in continuing Kevin’s legacy.
